Invest in London

Canary Wharf, one of London's key business and financial areas

London is one of the world’s major business destinations, with a strong employment record in numerous specialist sectors

The London Development Agency (LDA) aims to develop the city so it remains an attractive location for businesses, while also allowing those already working, living, studying and investing in the capital to benefit from its economic prosperity,

We support a range of initiatives to encourage enterprise, maximise productivity, develop innovation and improve workforce skills.

Inward investment

London is the focal point of the UK's economy and is one of the world's most important business, finance and creative districts.

Think London is the LDA's official inward investment agency. Its role is to promote London as a place to invest in and help foreign investors set up in the capital and develop their businesses.

The LDA is working to develop programmes that will attract and support foreign investment in London, while also securing business for the future.

2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The LDA sees the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as an opportunity to benefit Londoners, investors and visitors for years to come.

We are working with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, the host boroughs (Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest) and the Olympic bodies to achieve a lasting physical, social and environmental legacy from the 2012 Games.

Low-carbon London

The low-carbon economy of the future offers a great opportunity to London. The LDA is planning how to build and boost the market for green products, services and jobs.

We aim to combat the effects of climate change without compromising our quality of life and business competitiveness, while also reducing our impact on the environment.
