Institute for Sustainability

The Institute for Sustainability is an independent charity, led by a world class board representing UK industry, academia and public sector. The Institute's work aims to deliver a greener economy and catalyse sustainable communities by:

• establishing practical demonstration projects:
• monitoring, measuring and evaluating solutions; and
• sharing learning locally, nationally and internationally to inform future projects and development.

Reasons for being an Expo sponsor

We believe that collaborative working and sharing learning is crucial if we are to accelerate the delivery of sustainable cities. 

Shanghai Expo is an important opportunity to share international experiences of the challenges and business opportunities presented by the move towards sustainable communities, towns and cities. Our event, Towards Sustainable Cities, delivered in conjunction with EcoNetworks and our sister institute, the Sino-UK Research Institute for Sustainability at Tongji University, aims to build and develop opportunities in collaborative research and innovative low carbon business investment.
